Focusing on Life: One Word (2/52 Photos)

I have struggled more with this weeks post than last weeks, I am notoriously unorganized. Everything room in my house is chaos. Especially the bead studio/ office. I need to get more organized this year and figure out a way to keep it organized.
So any advice that cam be given will happily be accepted. I have mulled over what one word I would use this year.. Travel (see Family and Friends) , Clarity to get myself fixed ( which is a loss cause.) But I know I can get organized..

I think "clarity" is a wonderful word, Stepha, but I don't believe you need to fix yourself... maybe fix the crazy expectations others have of us! Your family and friends are what is important, especially with such young children. I have always loved that poem by Ruth Hulbert Hamilton that ends:

The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow,
But children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

I first read it in a La Leche League publication; I'm sure you have seen it before. It was written in 1958, but I think it universally expresses how we as mothers are always pressured to keep up with all those other tasks, that somehow feel annoying and unimportant while we have something (our kids) so wonderful to enjoy! Just one gal's opinion.

I'm no help with getting organized as my entire house is in chaos. But just doing something every day might help, no matter how small. Good luck!

We are both in the same boat! Clarity and Simplify seem to go together very well. Best of luck!

Get organized...I don't even want to think about the various messes going on in my house! You are too young to say that you are a lost cause! You have way too many positives going on in your life to be considered a lost cause....Mya, Timothy, and Mason!

Stepha.. there's is NOTHING about YOU that needs fixing! :) .. I am not an organized person (u know that!) but I saw something on TV the other day, they said, if you want to get organized, organize ONE area/thing a week or monthly.. that way, you are not overwhelmed and will be use to whatever you organized as you go along.. and they said, you will have a better chance of keeping it organized.. good luck lady! luv u ♥

I really need to 'get organized' too before I can get to my word of the year, creativity.

Always try, even if you only make a little progress. It's an ongoing process around here!

I think the world would end if I ever got organized! Good luck, you can do it!

I have the same affliction. I have to pull everything out of the studio this month and then only put it back in if it will fit or I will use it. I have a lot of organizers that I do have but don't utilize fully. That is part of my word - BALANCE - for this year as well. I wish you joy in the journey in 2013. Enjoy the day. Erin
